We can provide a hands-on Educational Experience for your Pupils | "The artist (RO-01) thought it would be 2 classes of 30 pupils, not an audience of 200+, but he was really nice. The music was fine and he let the children join in...." Helen Skinner, May 2006.
If you are planning a school event such as a music performance during Assembly or a dance / music workshop, we are bound to have something that captures the imagination of your pupils. We have provided musicians, singers and dancers for school events all over the UK. Recently, we have supported Educational Theme Days such as a 'Spanish Week' in a Nottingham school and an 'Indian Arts Day' in a Catholic school in Sussex. Here's what the organiser said, after a 'Spanish Week' at her primary school in May 2006: What the guitarist said about the same event: "I showed them Flamenco and got them to shout 'OLE' in the gaps and had them clapping along. I gave the teachers shakers and percussion to hand out too.. The kids loved it and I got a lot of thanks from the teachers. Even had some kids dancing at the front in Spanish outfits. From my point of view it demanded some very quick lesson planning and improvisation. I had a great time and the kids did too. My instincts and customer response told me I really was onto a winner. Shame I can't do that twice a week in all the schools around the UK. I will change my business card to 'Pied Piper!'... Flamenco Guitarist RO-01
Activities usually take the form of an Assembly presentation, followed by Workshops and hands-on 'Have-A-Go' events, where the pupils can try the instruments for themselves, receive expert tuition and even try on some of the traditional costumers worn by artists from different languages and cultures.
This is a superb way to provide socially-inclusive education that crosses ethnic and cultural barriers, encouraging mutual appreciation of different faiths and cultures. For your school activity, we can provide musicians who are entertaining, friendly and even casually dressed (if you wish) as opposed to formal appearance.
Most of the musicians are already C.R.B. checked and some are also existing music teachers in secondary schools and specialist teachers guitar and Flamenco dance colleges.
And please be assured; we only employ professionals who have first passed our strict application policy for new guitarists, and who can demonstrate a proven history in the music, wedding and corporate entertainment industries. So you can have total confidence in us and in the artist, whoever you decide to book. We will be happy to first listen to your plans and then to make some suggestions on the music and entertainment that we think might be appropriate for your occasion. We can then get some prices together from any artists who are available for the date of your event. Why not contact us today for a quotation?
