Classical Guitarist RO-03

Credits:

A brilliant young guitarist who is very popular in his local community, playing at weddings, parties, charity events and public festivals.  He has the ability not only to simply play well to an audience but also to engage them at a personal level, developing a rapport which is professional yet very warm and approachable.

This combination of skill and a friendly personality makes him a perfect choice for small to medium size weddings, family parties and public festivals.

Style:

Classical, Romantic, Spanish and Popular guitar

Training:

He started playing classical guitar at the age of 11 and later studied music at his local college, achieving a B-Tech in Popular Music in 1998.

He then went on to University, gaining a 2:1 BA/BSc (Hons) in Music & the Creative Arts in 2001.  He later attained Grade 8 in Classical Guitar in 2005 under the tutorship of Neil Smith.

Currently, he is working towards a performance diploma through the London College of Music.

In 2004 he decided to focus on the classical guitar, and has since performed exclusively as a solo artist, playing for the BBC and appearing on both local and national television whilst performing at venues such as All Saints Church (Lincoln) and Pennoyer's School (Norfolk) which featured in the award-winning BBC programme Restoration Village.  (Photo on left).

He has also performed at a variety of venues including churches, stately homes, pubs, hotels, art galleries and garden parties - please see the list below.

At many of the events, he has provided background music to create an ambience suited to each client's requirements and has given short recitals at civic and charitable events.

Recently he became the first musician to perform, in amongst the bookcases, at his local library (photo on right) as part of the national "Make A Noise in Libraries" campaign - he says:

Letters Of Appreciation

"He was our musician at many of the BBC Restoration Road shows. He also appeared on local and national BBC television. He is a professional performer with a natural talent for endearing himself to an audience. We'd have no hesitation at all either hiring him for another BBC event or recommending him for any event."

Liz Catlow, BBC Broadcast JournalistClassical Guitarist RO-03

"Everyone complemented the guitarist who made the atmosphere really special."

Suzanne Pettigrew, Bletchley Park wedding, Bucks

"The music he helped us choose for our wedding was so appropriate and extremely well presented on the day. He offered an impeccable and reliable service."

Mr & Mrs Ellel, Stanley House Wedding, Lancs.

"His playing and presentation exuded a certain warmth which captivated the audience, and provided a relaxing evening's entertainment."

Doreen Harwood, Rishton Disabled Group

"He played at our library during a classical guitar recital , as part of the national "Make A Noise" in libraries.  The event was extremely successful with a large number of people stopping by to listen to him.   He was wonderful in his playing and was open to questions in between performances. He was very professional and built up a good rapport with his audience during the afternoon. We've asked him to play again for us next year, for a music therapy event."

Carol Hoskin, Senior Librarian, Lancashire County Council

"The ladies of Pulham St Mary are still talking about the classical guitarist in the tuxedo! His lovely music really contributed to making our Restoration Roadshow a very special event."
