| Credits: He has studied and performed with some the world's very best Flamenco guitarists including Juan Martin. He brings passion, excellence and flair to his music, combined with many improvisations that will inspire & entertain the listener. Style: Energetic, improvised Flamenco, Spanish Classics and traditional Standards. Biography:He started to learn classical guitar at the age of eight and had completed all of his Trinity College grades by the age of fifteen. From here he went on to study music at the renowned Dartington College of Arts, where he took his music ‘A’ level and Dartington Certificate, whilst studying diploma level classical guitar with teacher Steve Gordon. During this time, he started to play solo recitals, perform with guitar quartets and was a member of a Guitar Ensemble. | He later went on to study for a degree in popular music and jazz guitar at Salford University. Since this time, he has been working as a professional session guitarist in and around the north of England. He has toured with numerous bands and artistes and has written and played on many recordings, some of which he has produced himself. He is also the guitarist for a popular flamenco dance group and is a member of a Latin guitar duet. He started to play flamenco in the mid 1990’s and since then it has been his passion. He now performs regularly as a solo player in bars and restaurants and at private functions. He now plays a mixture of improvised flamenco and traditional Spanish guitar, which is perfect for themed events or for background ambience. In his spare time he also provides professional tuition in all styles of guitar. Training: - Studied Classical guitar at Dartington College of Arts. - Studied Jazz guitar at Salford University as part of degree in popular music and recording. - He holds an Oxford music A level, AMUS and LTCL qualifications. - He has also attended flamenco master classes with Juan Martin, Alberto de Cadiz (accompaniment) and Nick Wilkinson.
Performing Experience:
He has played at numerous corporate business events and private functions, and has performed with a flamenco dance show (of which he is the resident guitarist). Some of the many venues he has performed at include La Vina, Pyramid festival, Streets ahead events, Alderley Edge Hotel, Hebdon Bridge Pena. As a session guitarist (in many styles of guitar) he has played at events such as Big Chill Festival, Womad, D-Percussion, Waters Edge festival, La Scala (London), The Green Room, Contact Theatre and the Eclipse Festival, to name a few. Radio broadcasts include XFM and BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio Lancashire. |
